YOUR CHOICES

Privacy, kept simple.

You can play without an account and without agreeing to optional tracking.

What your browser remembers

almost.earth stores unfinished games, daily history, practice order, statistics, tutorial preferences, and advertising frequency limits in local browser storage. These records are not uploaded to a game-history database. Clearing this site’s browser data removes them. Saves belong to the browser and website address where you played; they do not automatically transfer between devices, browsers, or domains.

Hosting and essential requests

Your browser requests the website, map files, daily puzzle date, and public configuration from Sites, our hosting service. The hosting provider may process IP addresses, technical logs, and traffic statistics to deliver, protect, and measure the service. This is separate from the game progress stored in your browser.

Google’s consent service

We use Google Privacy & messaging to offer and remember privacy choices, including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland. Google’s AdSense script loads the published consent message. It sends Google technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and the website address, and the consent service uses browser storage to remember your choices. This is separate from your saved game.

You can consent, decline, or manage individual options in the message. You can change your choice later through Privacy and cookie settings in the footer. Declining optional tracking does not remove your guesses, results, or access to the game. If the consent service fails to load, the game remains playable and optional ad requests stay paused.

Advertising and optional analytics

Advertising and optional game analytics are currently disabled. AdSense ad requests stay paused even if you consent; no display or fullscreen ads are requested by the game. Loading Google’s consent connection is not the same as enabling ads. Google’s scripts may read existing Google-domain cookies while ad requests are paused; Google states that data from those cookies is not used for ad serving or measurement in this paused state.

If advertising is enabled later, we will update this notice. Our current integration requires a permitted consent state before requesting ads and does not request ads after you decline. No optional Google Analytics script is loaded in this release.

See Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner sites, and Google’s explanation of paused ad requests.

Change your privacy choices

This Privacy page does not load Google’s consent, advertising, or analytics scripts, so you can read it without a prompt. The link below returns you to the game and opens Google’s privacy settings when available. Consent choices belong to the browser and site address where you made them.
